Clyde Bennett, president of Clyde Bennett & Associates, is a rare breed these days – a native Austinite! After receiving degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in English and Journalism, Clyde became exposed to the world of computers while working in the Texas Legislature. He felt he could use his communication skills to work with non-technical businesses and develop and implement automation solutions for them. After he received his MBA from UT, Clyde worked for three years with the State Auditor’s Office reviewing business automation techniques within state government.

In 1984, after witnessing the rapid adoption of the PC in the practice world, Clyde left state government to begin offering his skills to the medical practice market. Over the past 25 years, Clyde has worked to identify emerging trends in the IT industry and to adopt and interpret them for small businesses. He chose to work within the service industry and to focus on law firms and medical offices. Clyde often speaks to groups of computer users and practice leaders on how to maximize their investments and minimize their exposure to risk and downtime. He continues to attend trade events and monitor the latest trends on blogs, wikis and websites in order to prepare his clients for the future.
